Mermaid, the
SportCruiser and a the
streamlined Parrot, and a line
of straight and amphibious floats fitting many brands of aircraft.
In just 9 years Czech Aircraft Works has grown to be one of the world's
premier light sport aircraft producers. CZAW now has over 200 employees
and ships over 180 aircraft per year.
Production and Materials
CZAW builds primarily American-designed aircraft, built with American
materials (to American standards) and standards. CZAW imports tons of
aircraft grade aluminum sheet, chrome-moly tubing, and military-spec
hardware from the USA for use in our production.
The Czech Republic aircraft industry has a labor force skilled in
conventional metalworking and aircraft construction, which has earned an
excellent reputation for quality and attention to detail worldwide. CZAW
has acquired dozens of machines including a 5-meter brake-press, two
4-meter shears, and high quality welding equipment to make nearly every
part and component in our aircraft.

have been very pleased with the quality of the aircraft and in virtually
all cases have regularly re-ordered increasing numbers of aircraft from
CZAW.
Czech Aircraft Works CEO
CZAW is lead by Chip Erwin, full-time, "hands-on" CEO and major
shareholder in CZAW. An American, holding a MBA, Mr. Erwin has lived in
the Czech Republic for 10 years and has extensive experience in light
aircraft production and marketing. Mr. Erwin has successfully integrated
US-style business management with Eastern Europe traditions.
CZAW Management and Employees
CZAW has also retained skilled employees in key positions of production
management, engineering, quality control, accounting, customs logistics
and information technologies. Most of our aircraft are finished to
ready-to-fly status. CZAW has skilled avionics technicians, engine
installation technicians, and a new, state-of-the-art paint booth.

Supply and Parts
CZAW stocks parts for more than 20 aircraft to insure quick delivery of
parts orders and for a consistent supply to the CZAW aircraft assembly
line. In addition, CZAW stocks an extensive supply of instruments and
avionics including GPS systems, ANR headsets, Intercoms, Radios, and
Transponders.
